Follow Keshi's journey from Texas nurse to global streaming sensation, featuring his albums GABRIEL, Requiem, and his massive 2025 world tour.
Born Casey Luong, keshi has become one of the most recognizable Vietnamese-American artists in global contemporary music today. Raised in Houston, Texas, by Vietnamese immigrant parents, keshi built his career from the ground up, transforming bedroom-made recordings into a worldwide music phenomenon driven by emotional storytelling, intimate production, and a signature blend of lo-fi, R&B, indie pop, and alternative sounds.

Before pursuing music full-time, keshi actually worked as an oncology nurse in Texas — a background that many fans find surprising given the deeply artistic and cinematic atmosphere of his music today. He began uploading self-produced songs online around 2017, initially gaining attention through platforms like SoundCloud and YouTube. Using minimal equipment and producing tracks from his bedroom, he quickly developed a loyal fanbase drawn to his soft vocals, introspective lyrics, and emotionally vulnerable songwriting.
His breakout came through early projects such as Skeletons, Band-Aids, and always, which helped establish the melancholic yet immersive sound that would later become his trademark. Over time, keshi evolved from an underground internet artist into a global touring musician, accumulating billions of streams worldwide and selling out major venues across North America, Europe, and Asia.
One of the biggest milestones in his career came with the release of his debut album GABRIEL in 2022, which debuted strongly on the Billboard charts and significantly expanded his international audience. Around the same period, he also contributed “War With Heaven” to the soundtrack of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, further introducing his music to mainstream global audiences. His growing popularity later led to standout performances at major festivals, including Coachella, where he delivered one of the most talked-about sets among rising Asian-American artists.

In recent years, keshi’s artistic direction has continued evolving beyond the lo-fi bedroom aesthetic that first made him famous. His sophomore album, Requiem, explores themes of love, grief, identity, fame, and emotional isolation through a more expansive and cinematic sound palette. The project combines live instrumentation, layered production, and deeply personal songwriting, reflecting both his musical growth and changing perspective as an artist approaching a new stage in life.
Following the album’s release, keshi embarked on the massive REQUIEM World Tour, performing in iconic venues such as Madison Square Garden in New York, Kia Forum in Los Angeles, The O2 Arena in London, and major arenas throughout Asia and Australia. The tour marked the biggest live production of his career so far and demonstrated how far he has come from his early self-produced internet beginnings.

In February 2025, keshi also released Requiem (Deluxe), adding new tracks including “Kiss Me Right,” “Forever,” “Inside Out,” and “I Choose You”. The deluxe edition was warmly received by fans, many of whom praised the songs for blending the emotional intimacy of his earlier work with the larger-scale production style of Requiem.
Despite his massive global success, keshi continues to maintain a deeply personal relationship with his audience. Much of his music still revolves around vulnerability, longing, nostalgia, and emotional honesty — qualities that helped him stand out from the very beginning. Today, he represents not only a major force in modern alternative R&B and indie pop but also one of the most internationally successful Vietnamese-American musicians of his generation.
